Eligibility

Are you a good fit for the Edelman Fellowship? Here are the requirements.
Stephanie Montoya, a 2022 Fellow, traveled to Belize to study sharks and coral reefs, and engaged her students in lessons inspired by her trip, including through an exhibit at the Riverside Arts Market.

Edelman Fellowships are available to full-time educators in grades K through 12 and are open to teachers in any subject area. Instructional coaches, guidance counselors, and speech pathologists may also qualify, if they meet the following requirements.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be a full-time educator in a public school in Duval County, inclusive of traditional public and public charter schools
  • Spend at least 50% of the work week on direct classroom instruction
  • Have at least two years of classroom teaching experience
  • Expect to return to the classroom in the following school year

Teams of teachers who meet all of the above requirements may also apply for the $10,000 award. Teams can include any number of teachers, and be working within the same school or across schools.
